I am a Vietnam veteran and was referred to MAICO by the Hampton VA Medical Center under their Community Care program. Tracey reviewed my situation and was quickly able to diagnose and repair a broken hearing aid and restore my hearing. Throughout the appointment, she was very attentive and professional. “I will be honest. My first impressions of the building were not great. It is a nice area but the office itself is showing its age. This is my fault for jumping to conclusions. When we spoke to the receptionist she was very warm, gracious, and kind. She was helpful with all the help we needed filling out forms. We went to see the Doc and she listened attentively while I explained what brought us in. She asked good questions to clarify anything she needed. Everything felt no pressure and relaxed. Now here is where Doc was absolutely stellar. This appointment was not for me but for my adult special needs child. She addressed them. She talked to them. She explained every step and gave plenty of time for my child to understand. She worked with my child at their level. She was genuinely kind. When parts of the testing needed to be adapted, she pivoted quickly to keep the testing going in a fun and entertaining way. Doc had great usage of positive reinforcement so this was a very pleasant experience for my child. To sum up- This is the kind of place with the kind of people that makes a person look forward to going to the doctor. I will recommend this office to everyone. ”
