“I got tired of always saying "huh" and "what" and not being able to have a conversation without talking loud, so I had a hearing test done at the Pembroke location. I new what the results were going to be, completely deaf in right ear and losing hearing in left ear. The staff (Daria and Lorinda) are very professional and make you feel very comfortable and Lorinda explained all options available to me, which, at this point I didn't have too many because I've been deaf in my right ear for over 10 yrs. The option that I had was called the Phonak Cros which the right hearing aid will transmit to the left one so now when someone is on my bad side, I can hear them now. “I was totally disappointed. I went in for a hearing test. They told me to bring someone I knew with me for a voice recognition test so I did but then they never did that test and it wasted my friend's time to just sit there and not do that test. The guy told me I'd lost 50% of my hearing, which I expected but when I asked for a copy of my audiology report, he wouldn't give it to me. I felt like they should just hand it to me, no questions asked. I actually had to go back to get a copy of it because the woman I was working with and I couldn't get ahold of the guy. He wouldn't call us back. So I went back in there and I think I caught him a little off guard and that's when he actually gave me a copy. When I had my appointment it was at 9:00 and I actually got there a few minutes early. The receptionist was nasty - she actually suggested we go get coffee because the guy who was supposed to do the test wasn't there yet. If they accept the program I'm working through to get hearing aids, I'll go back there to get the hearing aids but I just don't want to be treated like a bag of dirt.”
