Licensed Doctor of Audiology Alyssa Pfaffe, Au.D., has been working at Ear Works Audiology since 2019 across our Suffolk and Nassau County locations. She earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Towson University and trained underneath the top researchers in the field. She has experience working in various settings including ENTs, private practices, educational audiology, and cleft palate clinics. Her clinical expertise is in diagnostic audiometric testing, videonystagmography (VNG), and hearing aid fitting and dispensing for pediatric through geriatric populations. Dr. Pfaffe enjoys helping patients hear again so they reconnect with their loved ones.
When she isn't in the office, Dr. Pfaffe enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Hearing Aid Fitting
A hearing aid fitting ensures your devices are properly programmed, comfortable, and optimized for your unique hearing needs. The fitting process includes several important steps designed to support clarity, comfort, and long-term success.
Initial Programming
Using your hearing test results, your hearing aids are programmed to match your specific hearing needs, with a focus on speech clarity and important sound frequencies.
Real-Ear Measurement (REM)
Real-Ear Measurement uses a small microphone to measure how sound reaches your eardrum,ensuring your hearing aids deliver the correct volume and pitch for accurate hearing.
Physical Fitting & Comfort Check
Your hearing aids are checked for comfort and secure placement. Adjustments are made as needed, and custom earmolds may be recommended for the best fit.
Training & Instructions
You’ll receive hands-on guidance on how to insert, remove, clean, and maintain your hearing aids, as well as how to adjust volume, change programs, and connect to your phone or other devices.
Follow-Up Schedule
Hearing aid fittings are not one-and-done. Follow-up visits are scheduled to fine-tune performance, answer questions, and support your adjustment to improved hearing.
