The Hearing Evaluation - Routine hearing evaluations play a vital role in supporting your overall health. These assessments offer valuable insights into your auditory function and allow for early detection of potential hearing concerns. Our hearing evaluation process is designed to be thorough and informative. Here's what you can expect during your visit:
- Discussion of Your Hearing Concerns → Your input helps us understand your unique needs and guides the evaluation process.
- Visual Inspection → Using otoscopy our audiologist will check for any visible issues or blockages in the ear canal.
- Pure-Tone Audiometry → This test measures your ability to hear sounds at various frequencies and volumes.
- Speech Audiometry → To assess your speech understanding and ability to hear in various listening environments.
- Tympanometry → This test evaluates the health and function of the middle ear.
- Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) Testing → This test measures the response of the inner ear's hair cells to sound, providing insights into their health.
- Comprehensive Results and Recommendations → Following the evaluation our audiologist will review the results with you in detail. If hearing loss is identified we'll provide recommendations for further treatment and if necessary, hearing aids or assistive devices.
