Audiologist, Owner

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me—I’m so glad you’re here. I am the owner and primary provider at Angkor Audiology. My family and I moved to Rolla in the spring of 2022, and by February 2023, we proudly opened our doors. Our mission is to expand access to quality hearing care in the community.

I’m originally from Minnesota, born to parents who were fortunate to escape the Cambodian genocide in the 1970s. Their experiences have shaped who I am today and inspired the name of my clinic.

My journey in healthcare began in nursing at a young age, where I developed a deep appreciation for meeting, caring for, and understanding people. Over time, I transitioned into end-of-life care, a field that was both meaningful and rewarding. However, I eventually sought a new path. My father worked with hearing aids and hearing professionals, and his passion for his work left a lasting impression on me. Audiology offered the perfect blend of science, technology, and direct patient care, making it an ideal career for me.

I moved to Normal, Illinois, with my partner, got married, started a family, and earned my Doctorate of Audiology at Illinois State University. Since then, I’ve gained extensive experience across various audiology services and specialties, working in hospitals, private audiology practices, and ENT clinics. I enjoy caring for both adults and children.

Currently, I am licensed to practice in Illinois and Missouri. What I love most about audiology is the opportunity to connect with people, learn their stories, and help them live life to the fullest. It would be my honor to assist you in making the most of your hearing care.

“I feel most fulfilled when I grow in fellowship and build community with other people. I love the work I do because I get to help people continue to be a part of community and grow in fellowship with others.”

Adult and Pediatric Hearing Services

Hearing Evaluations - Administered to adults as well as children ages 6 months and up. The hearing evaluation is a measurement of hearing sensitivity.

Tinnitus Evaluations - Some may hear ringing and other may notice crickets or cicadas. Tinnitus evaluations measure different qualities of a person’s subjective tinnitus, such as pitch and loudness.

Auditory Processing Evaluations - Auditory processing disorder is auditory impairment that impacts aspects of hearing such as processing speech in noise, localizing sounds, and distinguishing sounds from one another. This testing is administered in children and adults who have normal hearing sensitivity, but seemingly struggle with their hearing.

Hearing Technology - We offer a wide ariety of hearing devices in order to accommodate all hearing needs and budgets.

Verification Measurements - Industry gold standard for verifying hearing aids and the amplification they are providing wearers. We utilize a two-step verification process:

1. Electroacoustic Analysis - We test various output levels of each hearing aid prior to fitting it on a patient, verifying the absolute function of the devices,

2. Real-Ear Measurements - We use REM to program each hearing aid, verifying that the device is amplifying sounds to optimal hearing levels.
