“This is a review of my interaction with Dr. Kailey Murphy, Doctor of Audiology, at the Hearing and Brain Center of Austin, Texas. My examination was extensive. Going into this I knew I had a hearing loss in my right ear. After an initial question and answer session the examination showed a significant hearing loss in the left ear as well. My score was around 70%. A big surprise! After choosing my hearing aids, Oticon Real 1R , Dr. Murphy programmed the hearing aids. Next she administered the hearing test again. I got a score of 100%. I have peripheral neuropathy in my fingers and had trouble putting my hearing aids in! Dr. Murphy suggested taking a mold of my ear canal so I could try a different kind of hearing aid. On a follow-up visit my new hearing aids made from the molds were ready for me to try. It made all the difference and I was able to place the devices in my ear with ease. Next Dr. Murphy tweaked the programming of the hearing aids. This was done after placing a microphone in the ear canal and actually capturing the audio transmitted by the hearing aids! A test new to me. I was very impressed with the whole process. The benefits of a state of the art hearing aid is phenomenal! Case in point was a visit to a restaurant and being able to carry on a conversation with all that back ground noise. I would highly recommend Dr. Murphy and the Hearing and Brain Center to anyone having hearing problems. I am wearing my hearing aids all day long with no problems. ”

“I am very pleased with Saleem’s services. He is very patient and works diligently to ensure that instruments fit properly and are programmed to meet the user’s needs. I am particularly impressed with his efforts to teach patients how to clean their hearing aids. I previously had instruments fitted and serviced with an audiologist in a ENT physician’s office. I would go in a couple of times a year for cleaning, but he never offered to teach me how to do it myself. I also always felt a little guilty about going in, as it was not really encouraged. When I acquired my current instruments 4 years ago, a new Oticon model was being introduced. I made appointments with both Saleem and the audiologist to learn about it. The contrast in presentations sealed the deal for me. Again, no mention was made by the audiologist of providing instruction on cleaning. So far, Saleem has set annual appointments to check on my current instruments; there’s been a hearing test every two years. I also need to mention Brenda. She’s at the south office, while I see Saleem at the north office. I’ve never met Brenda in person, but in phone-mode only her friendliness and ability to answer many questions are evident. The only thing missing are those baked goodies!”
