Audiologist
Licensed doctor of audiology Mathew Figueiras earned his bachelors of science in Audiology and Speech Pathology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and his doctoral degree in Audiology (AuD) from Montclair State University. His passion for audiology stems from a long-standing exposure to the field through personal, academic, and professional experiences. Mathew comes from a family deeply seeded in Communication Science Disorders, with numerous family members currently practicing as Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiology throughout the tri-state area.
His eight-year undergraduate and graduate education focused primarily in audiology. During his graduate education, he trained at the Montclair State University Center for Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, St. Joseph’s Childrens Hospital, The Lake Drive Program for children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing and JFK Rehabilitation Center. Mathew completed his clinical fellowship year at University Hospital in Newark. His diverse training allowed him to obtain vast clinical skills including comprehensive audiologic and vestibular evaluations for the pediatric, adult, geriatric, and special needs populations.
Mathew’s strong family ties, education and consistent exposure to the Communication Science Disorders guided him to dedicate his life to advocating for those with communication deficits and ultimately led him to his career as an audiologist at Advanced Hearing Aid Associates.
