“I was experiencing hearing loss in my right ear. I asked my doctor for a recommendation for new hearing aids and he recommended Dr Le at National Hearing and Balance Center in Hondo. My first appointment, I was greeted by Tammy at the front desk, who reviewed a few things with me to gain a deeper understanding of my issues. Dr Le immediately put me at ease and asked more questions about my daily life, as well as what I hoped to gain through new hearing aids. I had my hearing tested and the level of hearing loss determined. During my second visit, Dr Le went over my test results and further discussed my lifestyle to determine the best choice of aids for me. Once I made a decision of which aids I wanted, we began the process of making molds for my ears. Once the aids were ready, and I wore them for the first time, I was surprised how comfortable they felt. With complete loss in one ear , I was concerned my hearing would never be properly addressed. I was wrong, clearly wrong. I was hearing in every setting....from noisy rooms to very soft spoken conversations. I had given up on listening to the radio, and only watched TV with closed captions. My world opened up again as I turned the radio on, and stopped at a restaurant to have lunch. Ordered without pointing at the pictures!!! On my next visit, I met with Lisa the audiology assistant, who programmed my phone so I could use it to check batteries and adjust sound levels. Lisa was so helpful in going over the care of my hearing aids and how to properly charge them. Dr Le set up my phone so I could answer it directly from the hearing aid, which gave me the clearest phone conversation ive had in decades. The follow up care is so thorough, they don't sell you hearing aids and send you on your way. Dr Le and her staff make sure you know how to get the most out of your aids and how to properly care for them so they last. Each step of the way, you're guided forward towards a more fulfilled life. One in which you can confidently have conversations in any settings. I am so happy with my new hearing aids, and eager to get out more and hear more. Thank you, Dr Le!”
“When I first came to National Hearing and Balance, I was having a terrible time with my loss of hearing that was primarily a result of my military service on Air Force flightlines! Dr Le is a great professional who takes sincere interest in the in the outcome of her patients visit and being attentive to every detail. When I came in and got tested, we ordered my hearing aids and then came in 2 weeks later to have them set for my prescription, I was amazed at what I have been missing in my hearing! I am hearing sounds I have not heard since I was a teenager! Dr Le has greatly enhanced my quality of life with her work with me! I am grateful to have been able to have her as my audiologist! Life is truly better for me now. My wife no longer complains because I have the volume too high on the tv or my radio, I can hear people without looking at them now, and dince I do a lot of speaking and question/answer sessions, have more self confidence in my interactions! I cant say enough! Yes the hearing aids can be expensive, but to me they are worth every penny spent considering the improvements in my daily quality of life!”
“I would like to thank Dr Le and her team at National Hearing & Balance for their excellent care and wonderful service. At first, I was unsure of the hearing aid process but Dr Le's expertise and personal care put me at ease immediately. She truly cares about her patients. My hearing aid was personally fitted for me and I couldn't be happier! ”
“After my husband had his hearing tested, he was told he needed hearing aids. So I decided to have my hearing tested also and to my surprise I needed hearing aids too. I was skeptical at first because I had never had a hearing problem so I thought. At work, I would see my co-workers lips move but no sound would come out but I didn't think anything of it. While watching TV at home my husband would be talking to me but I couldn't hear what he was saying and he had to be repeating everything. That's why I wasn't skeptical anymore. From the moment my hearing test was done that morning, I realized I did have a problem. Once I got my hearing aids I heard a whole different world. I cried when I left the office. I didn't know how muffled was hearing was. It was like when I got my glasses and saw clear for the first time. I advised my husband to go and get his hearing aids. I'm forever grateful for Ms. Lacing Le. She was was patient and heard my concerns. She didn't treat me like I was an old person. I love my hearing aids. I don't know what I would do without them. : )”
“I got ill, most likely the flu, and went to my doctor, he subscribed some medicine for me to take. I took all the meds for 10 days and my hearing was still not good. He then gave me more meds including a steroid, I took all those and it still didn't help. He then referred me to National Hearing and Balance. Dr. Le did my hearing test and told me that I probably had hearing loss for many years, maybe decades. I was sceptical, I had a sudden loss of hearing due to the flu. I did know that I had tenitus, a constant ringing in my ears, I had that for years. I ordered 1 hearing aid, that's all I could afford at the time. Upon receiving my hearing aid, Dr Le set it at 3 levels down until I get used to it. I walked outside and was amazed at all the noises I heard, I found myself looking at all the trees trying to see all the birds that were chirping. I almost turned and went back in to tell Dr Le to turn it up. At my next appointment Dr Le said she could turn it up a little bit more, if I was ok with it. I told her to turn it all the way up, I could not believe the amount of things I could not hear! I can hear my instapot beep in the kitchen from my living room. I brought a friend to get his hearing tested at National Hearing and Balance, and he is going to order his hearing aids. I can't wait for him to hear what he has been missing!”
