Doctor of Audiology Jeffrey Shannon earned his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Dayton in Ohio and worked as an engineer and math and science teacher for several years. Then he returned to school, earning his Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. He then began his career helping people hear better at the Veterans Administration National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research in Portland, Oregon, where he helped develop and improve diagnostic testing, treatment devices, and management services for veterans with hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and auditory processing problems.
