Dr. Sally Miranda,
AuD, FAAA, CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology/Owner

Dr. Celia Miranda, or Dr. Sally as she is affectionately called by her patients, has been an audiologist for 28 years. She earned a bachelor of science degree in 1991 and a master of arts degree in 1994 at the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her doctor of audiology degree in 2000 from the University of Florida.

Dr. Sally became the first doctor of audiology in Midland and was among the first in the state when the requirements to practice audiology changed from a master’s degree to a doctorate.

After running a successful practice in Midland for many years, she relocated to New Braunfels with her husband to start a new chapter in their life together. Dr. Sally recently opened the doors to Hear In Texas, Inc., a brand new state-of-the-art clinic which happens to be the only locally owned and operated audiology practice in New Braunfels. Her time and attention are now spent meeting many wonderful local people helping them hear the life that they love and reconnect with the world around them. Although the highest audiological standards are a core part of her DNA, her office is far from a stuffy and sterile medical environment. She provides advanced hearing care with real heart and soul!

Dr. Sally is a member of the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, the TriCounty Chamber of Commerce, the US Women’s Chamber of Commerce, the Women’s Business Alliance, the Hispanic Business Alliance, the Military Affairs Committee, NB Women Go, and a board member of the Better Business Bureau.

She was among the first audiologists to obtain a clinical Doctorate in Audiology, graduating from the inaugural program before a doctorate became a requirement for the profession.

Dr. Anna worked at Texas Children’s hospital, after graduating from BCM. Then in 2008, she joined Ototronix, manufacturer of a middle ear implant, where she served as the Director of Audiology for 16 years.

During her tenure with Ototronix, she held the position as a clinical trainer for audiologist and surgeon trainings, co-authored papers alongside renown otologists, presented research, and worked with implant recipients on three continents.

Certified by the American Board of Audiology, a designation not required for licensure, but comes with more stringent requirements, publicly demonstrates Dr. Anna's commitment to follow best practices.

Amelia Flores

Patient Care Coordinator

Amelia Flores (Amy) is a proud military brat who’s parents were born and raised in New Braunfels, Tx. After, her dad's retirement they moved back to New Braunfels and Amy has been a New Braunfels local since 1988.

Amy is a Devote Catholic and lifelong member of OLPH-NB. She enjoys spending her free time at church, working on the Parish Council, hanging out with her sisters in Christ, or being with her mama. Amy has a fierce love for reading and going to various Market Days.

After 30+ yrs in the medical field, she felt she still had something new to learn and after talking to the Miranda’s at great length. She knew she was home. She began her new adventure on June 26, 2023, at Hear In Texas. Amy Loves working for Hear in Tx because the company is small and family based. They care about their patients and helping our VETS is a #1 Priority. Amy remembered when her dad was 1st retired and states that it was very hard to get medical attention of any kind. At Hear in Texas we strive to be the best at assisting our VETS.

My interaction with patients is not limited to just “office work”, The 1st time I helped a patient by myself, his hearing aids had not worked in over 3 months, he asked me to clean and check them and see if I could do anything. After about 30 minutes, I returned the hearing aids working. The look on his face was so amazing, he was so grateful that he could hear again. It made my day, and I knew for certain that I had made the right choice in joining the Hear in Texas Team.

Christy Bard

Business Development Diva

Christy Bard our Business Development Diva is always on the move in the New Braunfels community and beyond. She passionately lives up to her title by speading the word about all the good we are doing at Hear In Texas.

Christy has called New Braunfels home since 1998 when she relocated here after graduating from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos with her bachelor’s degree. She fell in love with New Braunfels while she was going to SWT and decided to stay in the area.

Christy’s passion is serving others and being an amazing resource for everyone she meets. Dr. Sally and Carlos met her right before they opened the practice in the summer of 2021. She was marketing with a home health company at the time and wanted to make sure that we were getting connected in the NB community…giving us networking contacts, organizations, and tips on how to plug in to New Braunfels. That night we met at Krause’s, Carlos told her she would be working for us one day and exactly a year later (as God would have it) she became the Business Development Diva for our practice.

Simutaneously when Christy joined the Hear in Texas family, she was asked to join our local healthcare networking group called the Traveling Trade Show (TTS) Crew in a leadership position. This has been an amazing asset to TTS as well as to our practice as we have enjoyed networking with this incredible group of healthcare professionals.

Christy brings a diverse backround in healthcare to Hear in Texas, offering a wealth of experience and talents that help drive the growth of our practice. She has stated-nd Her peers agree-that her role with Hear in Texas is a perfect match, combining all her passions: serving others, being a valuable resource, and playing a meaningful part in our patients' journey to better hearing.

Hear-O is our lovable, docile dog full of energy and excitement. He is being trained to be both a therapy dog and a service dog. Hear-O just received his certificate for the first phase of training. He loves hugs, is super smart and loves snacking on plain ice.  Every time he hears the ice dispenser, he comes running for a treat. He learns tricks really quickly. They include: sit, stay, down, shake, stand, speak, beg, whisper, place, heel, come, spin, up, quiet.

In public he is the perfect gentleman and is well behaved when we take him to the store with us. He loves to go on car rides.

Hear-O is our very first pawdiologist (thank you, Donna at Orange & Gray for suggesting his title) and will be a part of the Hear In Texas team with his very own office. He will help soothe nerves or just be available for pets and hugs.
