Audiologist

Dr. MacDonald brings over 27 years of experience to his audiology practice, earning recognition as an award-winning provider who is highly respected by colleagues in Audiology, Otolaryngology, and Primary Care.

Prior to entering private practice, Dr. MacDonald spent 15 years at the University of Rochester Medical Center. There, he served as Senior Audiologist and held key leadership roles, including Coordinator of both the Hearing Aid Dispensing Program and the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program.

He has also contributed significantly to the profession at the state level, serving as a member of the New York State Education Department Audiology Licensure Board since 2011 and as its past Chair.

Driven by a commitment to excellence, Dr. MacDonald’s vision is to deliver gold-standard hearing care to every patient he serves.

Education:
Dr. MacDonald holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Audiology from Central Michigan University, and earned his Doctor of Audiology degree through a joint program between Central Michigan University and Vanderbilt University. He completed his clinical fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

He is board-certified in Audiology by both the American Board of Audiology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. He is licensed to practice in New York State.

Awards & Professional Service:
In 2015, Dr. MacDonald received the “Distinguished Clinician Award” from the New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association. His long-standing service on the state licensure board underscores his dedication to advancing the field of audiology.

Outside the Office:
Dr. MacDonald’s passion for sound extends beyond the clinic. As a skilled guitar and keyboard player, he has collaborated with friends to produce music for many years. This deep appreciation for sound enhances his ability to craft personalized hearing solutions that consistently yield high patient satisfaction and strong clinical outcomes.
