Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Richbourg earned her Master of Science in Communication Disorders in 2002 and her Doctor of Audiology degree in 2003 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. At Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders in 1999. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and has a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (CCC-A).

Dr. Richbourg has over 20 years of expertise in the field of audiology, having worked as the Director of Audiology and an audiologist for the first 16 years of her career at a large group of specialized physicians in Texas that focuses on the ears, nose, and throat.  The evaluation and treatment of adult and pediatric hearing loss, diagnosis and treatment of auditory processing disorders, and cochlear implant mapping are among Dr. Richbourg's areas of interest and expertise.

Texas is where Dr. Richbourg was born and raised. In 2018, she and her husband moved to Smithville.  Her spouse works as an environmental specialist, and they have a growing daughter who keeps them on their toes.  They love living in Smithville and Dr. Richbourg is excited to offer affordable, excellent hearing care to the residents of Smithville and the surrounding areas.

Hear Life.

The mission of Warrior Hearing Center, which is locally owned and run by Smithville resident Janice Richbourg, AuD., CCC/A, is to offer our neighbors in the Northland, Platte City, Kearney, Plattsburg, and the surrounding areas high-quality, easily accessible hearing services. To make sure every patient is hearing every speech sound with their hearing aids, Dr. Richbourg employs a focused approach to hearing healthcare that includes speechmapping and real ear measurements. She also works hard to make sure patients understand their hearing loss, how it affects their daily lives, and their alternatives for hearing devices since she firmly believes that education and awareness enable patients to succeed with hearing devices.

Implantable Devices →

►Direct stimulation of the inner ear

►Optimizes speech understanding in quiet and noise

Implantable devices function differently than a hearing aid an are designed for those with profound hearing loss who do not benefit from traditional aids. The two most popular devices are:
