“I recieved a pair of resound hearing aids from a family member and went in to get a hearing teast to set them up for my hearing loss took a month to get an appointment they set them up and they worked good for 2 days called them up and they would only set up another visit over a month away waited and went in and got them fixed and they only lasted 3 days. I told them didnt like waiting over a month with only one hearing aid that works somewhat, she told me to call her if i had any problem well 4 days later it was back to same thing tried to call to talk to her about maybe getting new ones or do something else but they would not let me talk to her about what my options were nor give her a message where she could call me back in her spare time instead they set me up for another visit over a month in advance. They just about ruined my summer and hunting season they are nice people except for the one answering the phone poor. Got tired of this going on for month after month so went on internet and bought me a pair for thousands cheaper and they work very well.”
“She was extremely friendly, and she worked very well with the baby.”
“They were very very helpful for my mom and very mindful that she couldn't hear. I felt she knew what she was doing. I felt very confident. I thought that they were absolutely attentive to my mom's needs.”
“She was professional and got the job done quickly. ”
Clinic details
Northern Hearing Services was started by Dr. Joyce Sexton, AuD so she could help people of Alaska hear better. Northern Hearing Services serves people from all parts of the state in Anchorage and Wasilla offices and outreach clinic locations. Joyce was working for the Anchorage School District and decided she could better serve the hearing healthcare needs of Alaskans by having an independent practice. At first Joyce worked by herself testing and fitting hearing aids.
However as other hearing healthcare needs emerged Northern Hearing Services expanded and grew to meet those needs Currently Northern Hearing Services now not only evaluates hearing loss and fits, repairs, evaluates, and sells hearing aids, but they perform ABR tests and have been selected to be the Audiologists for the Alaska Cochlear Implant Network.
Northern Hearing Services now has offices in Anchorage and Wasilla with outreach clinics in Kodiak and Valdez.
