Denis Murnane is a board certified hearing instrument specialist and the owner of Community Hearing services. He earned his master’s degree from Fordham University and an undergraduate degree from Manhattan College. He is nationally board certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences and completed a workshop in hearing aid selection and fitting from Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is a member of National Hearing Aid Society and New York Hearing Health Care Alliance.

Rachel Donchek has a BA from the University of Albany. She is a NYS Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist. She is originally from Queens, NY and now lives in the Westchester Area. Rachel's greatest reward is watching her patients develop the courage to thrive and transform their connection to the world around them by regaining their ability to hear better. Her mission is to empower people, through awareness and knowledge, to get treatment for their hearing loss and live their lives to the fullest.

“I'm a 76 year old father that worked with loud machines my whole life. Over time I could sense that my hearing was getting more difficult. I also have 42 year old Downs Syndrome son who liked to play the TV at very high levels. He also had some hearing issues. With him it could have been more selective. “Over the course of 25 years, I have worked with four different audiologists. I was left dissatisfied by the first three. When I went to Community Hearing Services, I thought I needed a new set. Instead of starting a sales pitch, Dennis Murnane said, "Let me take a look at the old ones." He did a close inspection and decided it was a software problem. Could I give him a day to get the latest firmware from the company (which he did not sell)? I came back a day later and he said the problem was solved. Not only that, the hearing aids now had settings for four different situations. Eighteen months later, I came back after losing those aids on a trip. I got a new and much improved set from Community Hearing Services for less than I had paid for the originals. They're the best I've owned, and my appreciation for Mr. Murnane and his assistant could not be higher.”

You were scheduled for an appointment and then canceled it. Rachel saw that you had scheduled an appointment. When she saw that you had been scheduled she didn't realize you still wanted a callback. “I am a senior citizen whose hearing loss is family related. Hearing loss can start as early as 30 years of age but, for me it became apparent 10 years age. It took me approximately 2 years to decide to have my hearing tested. Yes, I was a candidate for a hearing aid. A friend of mine recommended Community Hearing Services. My first appointment was in October 2008. Here you’re never pressured. You’re given the facts which are easily displayed on their computer. Note, computer programs are not supplied by any one company. The practitioner must purchase the program. Here programs are bought as needed. At this point my hearing aid is attached to my phone through blue tooth. However, there are many kinds of hearing aids & every patient is fitted for an aid best suited to their needs. Community Hearing Services has several locations. As a result of my schedule and the office’s availably I have on occasion gone to another location. The same standard of care can be found in all their offices. IF YOU ARE NOTICING TROUBLE WITH HEARING, I RECOMMEND COMMUNITY HEARING SERVICES.”
