Karen Glickman has been a licensed audiologist in Maryland for over 30 years, with the last two decades spent at Preferred Hearing Center. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences from the University of Maryland and a Master's degree in Audiology from George Washington University.
Karen specializes in diagnostic testing and is highly skilled in working with the latest hearing aid technology. She is dedicated to finding the best hearing solutions for her patients. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and actively participates in the Olney Chamber of Commerce.
In her spare time, Karen enjoys traveling, biking, and spending quality time with her husband, two children, and her dog, Sasha.
Kaitlyn Sheapp,

Dr. Kaitlyn Sheapp is a committed audiologist with a comprehensive background in both education and clinical practice. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences from the University of Maryland and went on to receive her Doctorate in Audiology from Gallaudet University. During her studies, she gained valuable clinical experience through rotations at renowned institutions such as Johns Hopkins Hospital and worked in several private audiology practices. Her dedication to the field is further reflected in her published research in a respected audiology journal.
Over the past five years, Dr. Sheapp has been part of an ENT practice, where she has delivered exceptional care in diagnostic audiology, hearing aid technology, vestibular assessment, and tinnitus management. She is passionate about tailoring care to meet the unique needs of each patient, with a strong focus on improving hearing health and overall quality of life. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Sheapp serves as an adjunct professor at Gallaudet University, where she teaches courses in electrophysiology and amplification, mentoring future audiologists.
Returning to her hometown of Olney to join the Preferred Hearing Center marks a meaningful chapter in her professional journey. Beyond her work, Dr. Sheapp enjoys cooking, hiking, playing games, and spending time with friends, embracing a well-rounded and active lifestyle.
Allyson Shumaker
Allyson and Karen have been working together as a team for over 16 years, with the first 15 spent at an ENT practice, she is the go-to person for any insurance and billing questions. Understanding the challenges of navigating the insurance industry, she strives to provide accurate information regarding your benefits. She is happy to answer all questions you may have. She loves getting to know each patient and strives to make your visit to our office a pleasant one.
Allyson is married and they have 3 amazing children. When she isn’t on the baseball and softball fields cheering on her kids, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is also an avid crafter and a devoted volunteer.
