Tara Crotts grew up in Morganton, North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Wingate University and later obtained her master’s degree from Appalachian State University. After teaching elementary school for nine years, Tara dedicated four years to being a stay-at-home mother to her three children before beginning her career in hearing healthcare in 2019.
With a lifelong passion for helping others, Tara found that transitioning from education to hearing care was a natural fit. As a Hearing Instrument Specialist, her goal is to provide personalized care that exceeds expectations and helps each person experience the joy of better hearing. She hopes every patient leaves her office with improved connections and a higher quality of life with their loved ones.

“My initial visit with Mountain Ear was great. Samantha listened to my concerns and my preferences to the type of hearing aid that I wanted. After looking into my ears with video scope and performing hearing test she sat down with me to discuss my options and prices for which I decided on the in the ear type aid by Starkey called evolv which in her words would bring me up to the 21st century. Upon receiving the aid the fit is great with no issues and Samantha went through the operation, tuning, set up with my phone and other features the hearing aid has. I am pleased with the service and the hearing aid and would recommend Mountain Ear hearing to anyone who may have hearing concern.”

“I had a great experience at Mountain Ear Hearing. Samantha did several tests on my hearing and confirmed it was bad. She discussed the options available to me. And then we discussed the hearing aids they sell. I picked out the ones that I felt were best for my situation. They have made my life much better since I began wearing them. I can actually hear people on the phone now. I can hear my wife without asking her to repeat things so much.
But the one thing that seemed to make the most difference was music. I listened to the Beatles channel on Sirius XM on my way home from their office and I heard things in the music that I hadn't heard in years. GREAT job, Samantha and Mountain Ear Hearing in Conover.

Our Conover office is located on NC-16 in the little strip mall between Auto Zone and Murphy USA gas station. Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes and Fries is on one corner of the strip mall and AT&T is on the other. We are next to AT&T.
