Audiologist

Dr. Ross Tonini began his interest in hearing healthcare and chose a career path in audiology and speech pathology after being introduced to individuals with hearing loss and having gained proficiency in sign language.

He attended the University of Arizona, in Tucson for speech pathology and audiology and graduated 1983 with both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences.

In 1995, Dr. Tonini  obtained a clinical doctorate, in audiology, at the Baylor College of Medicine and Methodist Hospital, in Houston, Texas.

He trained at Baylor College and worked with Dr. Sunita Kavrie, speech-language pathologist and faculty member, on several assignments. He joined Dr. Kavriat at SpeechPath Associates, Inc. from 2002 through 2010. During that time, alongside his work as a speech-language pathologist, Dr. Tonini helped to develop “The Hearing Health Center of Houston”, in 2007, as a dynamic place for the diagnosis and management of hearing loss.

Dr. Tonini returned to Baylor College of Medicine in 2016 as part of their audiology team with emphasis on cochlear implants, bone-anchored hearing devices, traditional hearing aids, and diagnostics. In 2021, he returned to the team here at the Hearing Health Center of Houston as an audiologist.

Dr. Tonini is excited to be back with the team at the Hearing Health Center of Houston!

Audiologist

Dr. Nabil attended the prestigious Alexandria University in Alexandria, Egypt where he received his medical degree. On completion of his medical training, Dr Nabil wanting to care for people’s general health issues, practiced as a physician, in his hometown of Jordan for over fifteen years.

During his tenure there, he became involved in a study that provided care to children diagnosed with ADHD who also presented with speech and language deficits. Following further testing, which included comprehensive hearing tests, many of these children were found to have underdiagnosed hearing loss which was the root cause of all the problems with communication and other aberrations in their functions of daily living. This early experience is what triggered his interest in hearing loss, the science of hearing and the profession of Audiology.

Dr. Nabil is among the few physicians in the country who have transitioned into audiology, blending his medical expertise with audiology to a bring unique and advanced perspective to our practice.

He is truly the medical audiologist in every sense of the word and his patients readily recognize and applaud him for his expertise. According to his patients, his bedside manner, his professionalism and the depth of his knowledge are what draw them to him.
