Dr. April Hang is passionate about improving her patients’ quality of life through the evaluation and management of hearing loss and hearing aids. She also specializes in balance/dizziness and tinnitus evaluation and management. She earned her Doctorate in Audiology from East Carolina University and is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.

“I lost hearing in one ear and was told there was nothing that could be done. To do all I could to protect hearing in the other ear I chose Dr. Agresti. To my surprise and delight, she and her staff were able to fit me with hearing aids. I had found myself retiring from social situations. With these hearing aids I am now confident to go out with friends. I highly recommend her. ”

“Dr. Agresti spent less than 5 minutes with me. Then off to have hearing test. When completed, without comments or results, appointment over. There was no review of results of hearing test, no comments or suggestions! Was advised to return to my former Audiologist and insist on return of my new hearing aids. Dissatisfaction with that Audiologist was reason I came to her. On the way out, handed copy of hearing test, comments and numbers without any explanation or suggestions or ability to ask questions. Waste of time and huge disappointment.”

I apologize that you were disappointed with the care you received during your recent appointment. As I recall, you were warmly welcomed into our practice after being disappointed with another local audiologist. I assure you that we take patient care very seriously in my practice and it was our goal to give you the best treatment and advice as possible. In your review you stated that I spent less than 5 minutes with you. I can assure you that was not the case. In order to track the care we provide, we maintain certified electronic health records. The records are time stamped as the patient is cared for throughout the office. In reviewing your records I see that you were provided a comprehensive ear, nose and throat evaluation with me over a period of approximately 26 minutes. Afterwards you were escorted to our audiology department for further high quality testing with our fully licensed and certified doctor of audiology, Dr. April Hang. Once that was completed both Dr. Hang and I provided counseling to you about your issues. This took an additional 37 minutes of time. Maybe it felt faster to you since you were frustrated about your condition and were hoping for complete resolution. I am sure it was disappointing to walk out of our office after approximately 1 hour of service and still have a problem. Rather than push you to buy replacement hearing devices from my practice, Dr. Hang encouraged you to go back to the original audiologist who sold the LIVIO devices to you. The devices were new and still under warranty. She did not believe you needed to spend more money when the devices you had could likely be replaced or repaired under traditional warranty. You were provided records to assist you with talking to the original audiologist and getting the devices to work better for you. I am truly sorry that you were unhappy with our service. We believed we were giving you the best advice under the given circumstances. We appreciate your feedback. Sincerely, Carolyn J. Agresti, M.D. ”
