“My first introduction was a quick visit to see if they accepted my insurance and make an appointment. I was told they did accept my MA Cigna card. I arrived 30 minutes early with completed paperwork. My appt. Was at 3pm but by 345pm I was told Matthew still had 2 patients and it would be awhile. So I was shuffled to Rylee and went over my expectations. She promptly stated my Insurance had no benefits. Not true. I was shopping around and was told so by providers. Anyway she stated 5k was minimum cost but I could finance with credit. When I declined that poor offer with no alternative offered not even a hearing exam, which I was told was free, the conversation ended and I was escorted out. Poor service by a trainee. I'll find a supplier and a good deal. Sorry you all just didn't meet my needs nor care to. If I'd have to pay 75. For a missed appt. Why can you at least be on time? ”

Official Response from Happy Ears Hearing Center - Peoria:
“Hi Sharon. Thank you for your review. It looks like you were seen at a different Happy Ears location. We apologize that you had to wait so long for your appointment. I know most of our locations try to stay on-time for all of our visits, however, some patients occasionally require more time that expected. Happy Ears Hearing Center is contracted with Cigna and many Cigna plans. However, it is impossible for our front office staff to look at a card and know if your specific plan has coverage or not. It requires one of our insurance specialists to call your insurance and spend about 30 minutes on the phone to determine what your coverage is. That is usually done in the office during your visit. We recommend that patients call their insurance ahead of time to find out who is "in-network" with their specific plan to avoid the frustrations with coverage. Since so many insurers have multiple options, some of which go through 3rd parties, it's not as easy as saying you have coverage because you have Cigna. Some Cigna plans have great coverage, some have discount plans, and some don't have coverage at all. Dr. Ellett is not a tech, she is a provider. We would recommend you call your insurance company to find out who is in network with your specific plan. We are contracted with Cigna, but not all Cigna plans have hearing coverage through the Cigna network. ”

“I saw Dr. Halterman today. She is amazing. The office runs really smooth. Everyone is friendly. I didn't feel rushed. I feel like it was a very extensive hearing exam with advice on where to go from here with my hearing issues and a referral to the appropriate doctor for follow up. I also didn't feel pressured and she answered all my questions before I left. Would highly recommend! ”

“Big Zero tinnitus. $200.00 for suggesting going back to where we started. Appointment supposedly one hour. Not! Don't waste your money there for tinnitus. No real advice even.”
