John Idema is a National Board–Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist (BC-HIS) with more than 30 years of experience helping individuals improve their hearing and quality of life. His professional journey began in 1981, when he earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Communicative Disorders, followed by a Bachelor of Science degree in Audiology and Speech Pathology. He continued his education at the graduate level, completing a year of clinical audiology training, a year in educational audiology, and an additional year focused on counseling and educational psychology.

John strongly believes in the principle that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Compassion and individualized attention are central to his approach to hearing care. “Communication is one of our most important human activities,” John explains. “When a message isn’t understood, communication breaks down. Understanding what we hear is essential to meaningful connection and a high quality of life.” Helping people hear better is more than a profession for John—it is his life’s mission, and he is deeply committed to providing thoughtful, personalized care to every patient.

Outside of work, John enjoys the outdoor experiences Idaho has to offer, embracing the natural beauty and active lifestyle of the region.
