Clarity Audiology and Hearing Solutions - Ellicott

Dr. Mary Carson is a licensed audiologist and the owner and operator of Clarity Audiology and Hearing Solutions. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and her doctorate degree from Towson University.  Dr. Carson holds a certificate of clinical competence in audiology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She specializes in hearing testing for all ages, fitting, programming and repairing of all makes and models of hearing aids.

Dr. Carson enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and traveling out of town to see extended family members. 

Lisa Bragg, Au.D. obtained her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Audiology degrees from Towson University. Dr. Bragg is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She joins Clarity Audiology & Hearing Solutions, LLC after several years of private practice experience. Her goal is to ensure that hearing loss does not hinder her patients’ relationships with loved ones and will recommend the best treatment solutions based on their type of impairment and lifestyle. She will take the time to understand her patient’s history and personal objectives to provide a customized experience. Dr. Bragg stays up to date with the latest technology and accessories so that her patients can stay connected, even in challenging listening environments.

She resides in Perry Hall with her husband Bruce, her sons Trey, Tanner and Tate, and her West Highland Terrier, Wesley. Dr. Bragg values quality time spent with her family and friends, especially summer trips to the beach.

Emilie Carney, Au.D. obtained her Bachelor of Science (B.S) from West Virginia University and her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D) from Towson University. She has been practicing for 17 years and at Clarity for 8 of those years! She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Carney was born in France and moved to the United States when she as 5 years old and rasied in Howard County. She is excited to be back in her community helping those with hearing loss. Her main career goal is to provide innovative solutions for individuals with hearing loss using the latest amplification technology for their listening needs. Dr. Carney and her husband, John, live in Nottingham, Maryland with their daughter and dog, Beau. They love traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Katelyn “Katie” Leitner brings more than a decade of experience in private practice audiology and joined our team in 2023. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University at Buffalo and went on to earn her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Pittsburgh. Originally from Central New York, Dr. Leitner made Maryland her home after marrying her husband, Dan, and has since become an active and valued member of the state’s audiology community.

She is a certified audiologist through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) with the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) and holds additional certification in Tinnitus Management (CH-TM). Dr. Leitner also serves as Treasurer of the Maryland Academy of Audiology (MAA) and co-directs the Special Olympics Maryland—Healthy Athletes, Healthy Hearing division. Her patient-centered approach focuses on evidence-based, personalized care that helps individuals improve their hearing and quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Leitner enjoys spending time at local libraries and thrift shops, doting on her two cats, and exploring National Parks.
